Yup. Keep on thinking that eating dirt is going to make one live over 100. I should have told this to my grandfather who lived to only 99. He smoked 2+ packs a day not including cigars and pipes. Never exercised. And had an absolutely horrific diet. Perhaps, he could have lived to 110 like my great auntie. Who didn’t smoke. But also a horrible diet and no exercise.
Do you feel cooked or raw broccoli is good?
Both are great! Try to mix it up from time to time for variety :)

I live in an area with harsh winters. I tend to freeze the ones I pick throughout the summer to have as storage for the winter!
I’m single and I buy frozen most often. In many cases I can upgrade to organic at little additional cost, no waste and just as nutritious as fresh.
My grandfather lived to 99. He smoked sooooooo much. Literally never saw him without a cigar, cigarette or a pipe. 2 packs a day would be very conservative. He also never exercised and ate like crap. He outlived my grandmother. He died five years later. In great health. Most likely from broken heart syndrome. My great auntie also lived a life where diet and exercise was not known. She lived to 110. Secret to longevity? Pick the right parents.
You forgot the last step which is after your done making your meal you gotta leave it on the porch for your rabbit then slap yourself and then get u a nice juicy steak
Watch out for oxalates in those plants.
I'm trying to deprogram my relationship to food with the daily dozen so that I only see it as a fueling of the body and no longer pleasure based. Most of what I have is smoothies and the rest is as raw as possible.

Nice Bobs Red Mill shirt! That's also so true what you said about people thinking they don't have time or thinking it's not a priority. Oftentimes with just a little bit of food prep you can actually save time and money and energy by prioritizing just a little bit of planning and work ahead of time.

It's a mix of 40g white flour, 40g rye, and 80g water. Then every day I scoop out half and replace with same ratios cut in half!

Question: I'm a runner in a hot climate should I take a pack before or after my run?
Honestly it comes down to how you're feeling. You could try "pre-loading" beforehand (either in the morning or 30-60 minutes before training) and see if your body responds well. Or, if you usually feel fine during your workouts, replenishing after is nothing to worry about either! With hydration and electrolytes it really comes down to keeping up with it throughout the day and addressing when you feel especially thirsty. Hope this helps, even if it's not a black/white answer!

I have been doing it for two months now. I feel good energy wise but I am always so bloated, like a pregnant woman, it is discouraging.
Oftentimes when we increase the fiber intake this can happen. If it's too uncomfortable you can lessen the amount of plants you're eating then gradually work your way up. In addition, make sure to eat slowly and chew a lot! That can help too ☺

Everybody CAN eat healthy meals and snacks every day!!!
I find it helpful to pretend tat eating healthy TODAY will make me healthy for the rest of TODAY. Eating junk today will make me fat and sick TODAY. The reality is not much different. Our blood chemistry changes after one meal. The way we feel follows pretty close. Then we get fat. It helps if we tell ourselves it will happen immedeatly when we eat junk.

I think in a lot of cases it comes down to decades of bad eating habits and relearning new healthier ways. We got used to processed foods that are easier and now you have to prepare your food. Not saying these should be your excuses!! There are no excuses. It’s a matter of learning to plan and be determined to do this. You will feel so much better if you do this.

Just bought some because one of my medication is really really dehydrating no matter how much I drink 😒 and the watermelon flavor is the only one I found that doesn't have citric acid (which makes me process my medication too quickly). I'm still getting adjusted to the taste but I'm hoping it helps!
Make plants based smoothies and save the money. Ag1 is a scam. It may be good as an expensive vitamin. Or you can just eat plants and veggies and some animal protein and be fine.

This is disingenuous, a large part of the blue zone diet is meat and other animal products.
A lot of people are magnesium deficient which is why you see so many reviews that describe this product as life changing, it's definitely worth supplementing magnesium. As for sodium/potassium, you shouldn't need to supplement those as long as you make sure you don't have a shit diet. Gotta keep these things in mind when you're making breakfast/lunch/dinner and you won't need to waste money on products like this, as products like these only really work when you're doing something wrong.
Recipe is good but buddy... Make sure guests aren't eating it.. saw you eat and put back some of it twice 💀 Not good.

These are good tips but imo restricting will not lead to success long term, adding in is better because you will slowly start to replace the less nutritious stuff with more nutritious stuff, if you restrict your more likely to rebel against the rules you set for yourself and eat loads of whatever you were eliminating

Pete, good stuff. I'm 9 years into this way of eating, but still find it helpful to hammer home the basics! I wonder what the benifits would be in an older person and not a young healthy guy like this. He feels good anyway so the 30 day experiment isnt that compelling to me. Im 65 and struggling with energy and i have stomach issues every morning. That makes it hard for me to get in a workout. And because my testosterone levels are down my muscles are shrinking and my fat is growing.

Vegan here for five years. Arthritis , GI reflux, and cholesterol problems all went away in 5 weeks. Lost down to my high school weight and its been easy to maintain.
